The practice of carrying more fuel than required for a particular sector of flight in order to reduce the quantity of fuel loaded at the destination airport for the following sector of the flight.
Tankering can be used for technical (e.g. lack of fuel or of appropriate fuel at destination airport) or economical (e.g. different fuel prices) reasons.
